Accuracy In Rhythm (Ely).......14.95
ACCURACY IN RHYTHM contains 55 rhythmic studies in duet form for all instruments, or singularly for keyboards, and is designed to provide for the systematic technique in subdivision of the beat, particularly as it relates to basic, but often carelessly played rhythms. It gives the musician opportunity for concentrated practice on subdividing without the distraction of unnecessary instrumental demands. ACCURACY IN RHYTHM is broken down into Simple Time; Compound Time; Polyrhythms; and Quintuple Meters. In each of the exercises, the rhythmic pattern to be studied is written in the first part, or keyboard right hand. The second part (or keyboard left hand) provides a background of subdivisions with which that pattern is to be coordinated. In addition, the second part is contoured so as to encourage good dynamic balance and a strong sense of musical flow in the study of rhythm. ACCURACY IN RHYTHM is one book for any instrument; which means that the instrumentalist (s) puts in their own appropriate clefs and whatever key signature they wish to work on. If two different instruments are used which do not employ the same clef or are pitched in two different keys, it would then be necessary for one of the parts to be transposed in order for both to sound in the same key.

Music Speed Reading (Hickman).......14.95
Adaptable for all instruments In a study conducted by William Leafblad and Richard
Colwell of the University of Illinois, the usage by senior and junior high music students
of this book resulted in significant improvements in their abilities to sight-read on the clarinet,
flute, violin, viola and piano. Sight-reading skills are of paramount importance, especially
in the current competitive atmosphere in the music industry. Don't let this essential part
of music education be ignored. Hickman's tried and true methodology should form a fundamental part
of your curriculum.

30 Changing Meter Duets (Meyer).......14.95
30 CHANGING METER DUETS for Treble Clef Instruments is designed
to give the student experience in solving asymmetrical pattern
problems in an ensemble format. 20th century composers employ
such patterns often, even in student solo and ensemble literature, thereby creating a need for studies such as these.
The author suggests and shows the student how to break down
difficult rhythms into eighth notes, or the lowest common
denominator, since this approach can serve as a useful step
forward to where the student can naturally feel the development
of this idiom. This is a well rounded course of study for
students at the intermediate to advanced levels.
